How to Grant Access to a Facebook Ad Account

If you want a Social Media Agency like ours to assist or run your paid adverts, you’ll need to grant access to a Facebook Ad Account so that they can draft and target your content in the platform.

To grant access to a Facebook ad account, follow these steps.

Steps to Grant Access to a Facebook Ad Account (AGENCY)

  1. Go into Business Settings in Meta Business Suite
  2. Select Partners in Users
  3. Click Add and select ‘Give a Partner Access’

  5. Select the level of access you want to grant. You can see the types of access available below.

Steps to Grant Access to a Facebook Ad Account (INDIVIDUAL)

To add an individual to your ad account, follow the above steps but instead enter their Facebook name or email address to connect with the right person.

  1. Go into Business Settings in Meta Business Suite
  2. Select Partners in Users
  3. Click Add and select ‘Give a Partner Access’
  4. Enter their Facebook name or email address
  5. Select the level of access you’d like them to have (view access options below).

How to Find Your Business ID

If you’re an agency or freelancer working on a page’s social media, you’ll need to know your business ID for Meta access, if the page doesn’t want you to use their own log in.

To find your business ID, go to Settings > Accounts > Pages, then select the page and find your page ID.

Once you’ve gotten your ID, send the above steps to your client along with your number.

What Access Roles Are There?

Facebook Ad Account Admin Roles

You can review the level of access that anyone working on your ad account has, depending on whether you want them to be:

  • An admin (meaning they’ll have full access to the account, where they can create and edit ads, access payment and alter admin permissions)
  • An advertiser (which has a lot of the same permissions, except for the ability to edit admin permissions)
  • An analyst (to view and report on the account)

For any further help with your ads, feel free to get in touch with our team. We can help you audit existing content, strategise for new ads, target to the right audience and manage your campaigns, depending on the level of support you need.

Be sure to check out our paid social media ads page, if you would like an agency to run your adverts.
