How Much Do Social Media Ads Cost?

How much of a budget you’ll need to allocate will depend upon the how high value your item is.

For example, if you want to sell items valued in the 100s, you’ll typically get a lower click-through rate than something that costs £10, meaning you’ll need to spend more and have a higher cost-per-click.

The goal of the campaign will also affect this. If you have a simple action for someone to take, such as entering their email for notification of your product release, this will generate a lot more leads than a form that requires 10 steps and causes people to lose interest.

We’d recommend putting at least a few hundred behind your ad so that you can get the best results, but this can be further discussed in your consultation.

Which Platform is Right For Me?

We know a lot of people base their adverts on the platforms with the most users, but we don’t use this strategy.

Our campaigns look at who your target audience is and where they’ll be most active. We then create content to suit this platform(s) best.

If you’re primarily a B2B company, we’d recommend Linkedin. If you want to reach a younger audience, TikTok and Instagram are great places to start, whereas Facebook can be perfect for adults and parents.

Review

We well review the adverts every few days as it runs, to see who the main audience is and how it’s performing. Here, we can tweak anything that may need changes, to ensure the advert gets the best results possible.

Case Study: Meta Ads For a Tutor

We recently ran an ad campaign for a tuition company who wanted to advertise their sessions for 11+, GCSE and A Level students on Meta, with a £200 budget.

For their campaign, we created two ad sets (one with broad targeting and one with selective targeting), each with several ads for the different sessions. For these ads, we created a selection of different copy, headlines and forms, then regularly monitored their performance to adjust as it went along.

The advert was very successful, finishing with 79 leads and a cost per result of £1.95.
