This guide will walk you through the process of securely and efficiently sharing access to your Google Ad account, especially for agency work. Follow these instructions to manage permissions and maintain control over your advertising data.
Granting access to a Google Ads account is essential for collaboration, whether you’re working with a marketing team, an agency, or stakeholders who need to manage campaigns or view reports. Google Ads provides a flexible access system that allows you to assign different permission levels based on each user’s role.
Update for 2026:

1. Log in to Your Google Ads Account
- Go to Google Ads.
- Log in using your credentials.
2. Navigate to Account Access Settings
- From the top-right corner of the screen, click the Tools & Settings icon (it looks like a wrench or gear).
- Under the Setup section, select Access and Security.
3. Invite the User

Click the Plus Button (+):
- On the Users tab, click the blue + button to invite a new user.

Enter the Email Address:
- Type the email address of the person you want to grant access to. Ensure they use a Gmail account or an email address linked to a Google account.
- Please make sure you’ve added “abbi.revgen@gmail.com” if setting up with our agency.

Choose Access Level:
- Select the appropriate level of access for the user. The options are:
- Admin: Full control, including managing access and billing.
- Standard: Can manage campaigns but cannot change user permissions.
- Read-only: View-only access to campaigns and settings.
- Email-only: Can receive account notifications but cannot log in to the account.
- Billing-only: Limited to managing billing and payments.
- Select the appropriate level of access for the user. The options are:

Send the Invitation:
- Click Send Invitation to notify the user.
4. Await User Acceptance
- The invited user will receive an email from Google Ads with instructions to accept the invitation.
- Once they accept, their access will be active.
5. Review and Manage Access
- Return to the Access and Security section to review users with access.
- Use the tabs to:
- Edit Permissions: Click the pencil icon next to a user’s name to adjust their permissions.
- Remove Access: Click the trash bin icon to revoke access if necessary.
Tips for Managing Access
- Assign Permissions Carefully: Only grant admin access to trusted users.
- Audit Regularly: Periodically review who has access and their permission levels.
- Secure Your Account: Enable 2-Step Verification for added security.
